Charred Forest II

This large one off hand sculpted vase was created as a response to the forest fires that ravaged New South Wales in Australia as a result of global warming, the smoke from which created an eerie orange fog in New Zealand at the time. The surface has a dusky black feel reminiscent of charcoal and the form represents the licking flames and the twisted charred remains of the precious forest..

This is a special piece and is primarily created with the intention of being a sculpture. If used as a vase, as with all our pieces, we recommend putting something protective underneath the form if it is intended to sit containing liquid on a porous or precious surface for a prolonged period of time. The extreme matt surface means that you will want to handle your sculpture with clean non greasy hands to avoid marking.
